Protect our Dreamers: What You Can Do

From Indivisible Guide: “One of the most important programs created under President Obama was the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The program has allowed close to a million immigrants who arrived in the U.S. at a young age to live and work in the U.S. lawfully. It is one of the most celebrated programs under President Obama—and now Trump is dead set on getting rid of it, and then deporting those who have benefited from it. Here is what you need to know about it.

What you can do to help

  • CALL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
    • Like so many other issues, Congress has the power to remedy this situation. Congress doesn’t have to—and should not—sit on the sidelines. Congress can pass legislation protecting these immigrant youth.
      • Call your representatives in Congress and tell them to stand up to Trump’s hateful decision and secure the futures of DACA recipients with a legislative fix: The DREAM Act (S.1615 / H.R.3440)
  • SUPPORT, AMPLIFY, AND FOLLOW IMMIGRANT VOICES
  • DONATE TO RAISE MONEY FOR DACA RENEWALS
  • CALL YOUR CA LEGISLATORS TO SUPPORT A STRONG SB 54
    • ACLU of Nor Cal: “SB 54 ensures that no state or local resources are diverted to fuel any attempt by the federal government to carry out mass deportations and that our schools, our hospitals, and our courthouses are safe spaces for everyone in our community.”
    • Find your California state representatives and tell him/her that you support a STRONG SB 54 that protects our fellow Californians from Donald’s white supremacist agenda.
  • PARTICIPATE IN OR HOST A PHONE BANK FOR SB 54
