Flip Georgia’s 6th District

Georgia’s 6th Congressional District is having a special election on April 18 to fill Tom Price’s former Congressional seat. This is our chance to make a clear statement against the Trump agenda. The leading Democratic candidate is Jon Ossoff, a progressive supported by Rep. John Lewis and the Democratic Congressional Campaign CommitteeNew York Magazine reported on March 24:

According to a new survey from Georgia-based Opinion Savvy, Ossoff has the support of 40 percent of likely first-round voters, with Republican front-runner Karen Handel at 20 percent; would-be Trump-clone Bob Gray and State Senator Judson Hill at 10 percent; and former state senator Dan Moody at 8 percent.

More importantly, Opinion Savvy had these numbers for voters screened for likely participation in a near-certain June runoff: Ossoff leading Handel 42/41; Ossoff leading Gray 44/42; and Ossoff tied with Hill at 44 percent.

There are also several other Democratic and independent candidates running in this “jungle” primary. If no one reaches 50%, a runoff election between the top two candidates will occur June 20. Republicans have poured over $2 million into this special election to stop a Democratic win!

A Democrat has not won this seat since 1965, so it needs any help it can get. You may 1) volunteer and donate directly to Jon Ossoff’s campaign; 2) choose another candidate to support to flip the district; OR 3) donate to the DCCC. Indivisible OC does not officially endorse any candidate, but supports the fight against the Trump agenda in Congress.
